open court
terms of service
Last updated July 26, 2026
These terms cover your use of Open Court, a free tool for running casual tennis and pickleball brackets. By using Open Court, you agree to these terms.
The service
Open Court lets you create a bracket, share a link, and track scores for a casual tournament. It’s provided free of charge, as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or availability.
Accounts and guest play
You can organize a tournament with an account (sign in with an email code or Google), or join one as a guest. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in access secure and for the accuracy of anything you enter under your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Open Court for anything illegal, or to harass, impersonate, or abuse others.
- Enter names, scores, or other content that is abusive, defamatory, or unlawful.
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, or attack the service or its infrastructure.
- Use the service to collect other users’ information for unrelated purposes.
We may remove content or suspend access for tournaments or accounts that violate these terms.
Your content
Tournament names, entrant names, and scores you or other participants submit are visible to anyone with the tournament’s share link. You’re responsible for what you enter and for having the right to share it.
Disputes within a tournament
Open Court lets a tournament organizer resolve disputed match scores within the app. That’s a convenience feature for casual play, not a binding or legal dispute resolution process.
No warranty
Open Court is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that bracket data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Open Court and its operator aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Termination
You can stop using Open Court at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the service, for any account, if these terms are violated.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes to these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
